D. Dale Archer, Jr., MD Dr. D. Dale Archer, Jr. is a board certified psychiatrist, a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and has been in private practice in Louisiana for over 20 years. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he graduated from Tulane University with a BA in Philosophy (with Honors) and was Phi Beta Kappa and a Tulane Scholar. Next was Tulane Medical School for an MD degree. Finally a four year psychiatric residency at the University of Texas, San Antonio completed his academic qualifications. Dr. Archer then set up his psychiatric practice in Lake Charles, Louisiana over 20 years ago by founding The Institute for Neuropsychiatry, which now has a staff of over 50 dedicated individuals providing a wide range of mental health services to the people of Louisiana and Texas. Dr. Archer is President and CEO of The Institute for Neuropsychiatry and is the Medical Director for psychiatric services at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He is also the Medical Director for the Lake Charles Substance Abuse Clinic and is the Psychiatric Director for the CIT (Crisis Intervention Training) program for Southwest Louisiana. Within the community Dr. Archer is also known for his regular appearances on NBC and FOX television affiliates in addition to his popular column in Lagniappe Newspaper. He has also hosted two advice oriented call-in radio shows and he regularly gives presentations on various mental health topics to both local and national audiences. In addition to his work at the Institute, Dr Archer is currently developing a new internet based psychiatric service under the name of 'Dr. D.' The new website URL is www.TellDrD.com which is scheduled to be launched very soon. Dr. Archer decided to develop this site in order to take the philosophy that he has used to help thousands of patients locally and translate that into a forum that would be simple and easy for people anywhere in the world to access via the internet. In addition to his regular work at The Institute for Neuropsychiatry, Dr. Archer has recently begun to undertake specialized assignments by providing personalized executive consultancy services to national and International business leaders. He uses his knowledge of brain chemistry and human behavioral traits to inform and illuminate complex business negotiations, strategic planning and decision making processes. Currently based at his Institute for Neuropsychiatry in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Dr. Archer travels around the world in his business consultancy work.
