Office Hours and Appointments
Institute for Neuropsychiatry offices are open to serve you 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Patients are seen by appointment only. Appointment schedules vary according to the provider of service. We make every effort to schedule your appointment to accommodate you, as well as your doctor or therapist. If you are unable to keep an appointment, please call as far in advance as possible so we may use that time to schedule another patient.
Telephone Procedures
Our telephone system is structured to allow us to care for patients with a minimum of interruptions, to answer questions, and to take care of urgent problems. Emergency calls will be handled immediately; however, less urgent calls will be returned as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.

Billing and Fees
Statements and billing costs have become increasingly expensive. Therefore, in an effort to keep your medical costs down, please be prepared to pay for office visits at the time the service is rendered. Payments may be made by cash, check or credit card. Our fees are reasonable and customary for the services provided. We will be happy to discuss with you any questions you may have regarding our fees or services.
Information Required
On or before your first visit, you will be asked to complete a patient information form. The information contained in this form is necessary for us to assist you in filing your insurance or handling your particular situation. Please complete this form in its entirety. A consent to release information and authorization for your insurance company to pay our facility for services rendered to you are also included. Please sign this to allow us to help you with this process. All information you provide us is confidential.
Insurance
If you have commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or Worker's Compensation, we will prepare and submit the insurance claim form to your insurance company. However, responsibility for payment is your obligation. Our providers participate in many managed care plans. We will be happy to work with you regarding authorizations and certifications for service. Many times you as the patient are required to phone your insurance company for initial certification.
Prescriptions and Refills
During the evenings and weekends, it is difficult for the doctors to determine if a prescription is indicated because they do not have access to your medical records. Therefore, prescriptions and refills are only handled during our regular business hours.
To request a prescription or refill, please call the office at 477-7091 ext. 3029, leave your name, name of the medication, pharmacy name and number, prescription number, your phone number and date of your next appointment. Your medication will be refilled as soon as your doctor authorizes the refill. If you have questions about your medication, please leave your number and message and our clinical coordinator will return your call as soon as possible. Please call the office at least two days in advance for refills.

We are located at 2829 Fourth Avenue, Suite 150 in Lake Charles, just north of the corner of 4th Avenue and Oak Park Blvd. and one block east of Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
